This weekend, the 2012 NAIAS Detroit Auto Show held at the COBO Center in Detroit, MI came to a close. Over 770,000 people attended the show this year, the highest total since 2005.

Here at Autohaus on Edens, we were not disappointed, especially by the show Mercedes-Benz put on and the unveiling of the 2013 SL550. We don’t know about you, but in and around Wheeling, Mercedes-Benz fans are counting down the days for the Chicago Auto Show so they can see this icon for themselves.

2013 Mercedes-Benz SL550

To say that we have been patiently waiting for the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL550 at Autohaus on Edens is a major understatement, since the last SL was introduced over 11 years ago! But from what we see, the wait was worth it.

Taking seven years to develop, the all-new SL550 roadster is sleeker and lighter than ever, thanks to its 90% aluminum body. This however does not come at the expense of safety; in fact, it is safer than its predecessors.

In Wheeling, Mercedes-Benz drivers will like what they see under the hood. A 4.6-liter direct-injected, turbocharged V-8 engine has 12 % more power than the maker’s previous V-8 engine.
